A raven spotted by whisky-loving brothers Callum & Peter Sim on their visit to Islay's distilleries became the talisman for Hrafn Gin’s world.
In myth & legend, ravens are often represented as symbols of wisdom, power, strength or good fortune. In nature they are intelligent, playful, curious and chatty – hence the collective noun, ‘a storytelling of ravens’.

Ever since our journey to explore the whisky distilleries of Islay with an unexpected, but fortuitous, gin tour formulated the idea to create our own premium gin of memorable character, we have been guided by flavour, quality and complexity.
Beyond the traditional, our range of premium gins use unusual and exotic botanicals including fresh mandarin peel and jara fruit to give each Hrafn Gin expression a distinct and individual flavour experience.
They are distilled longer than standard gins for a deeper, more intense flavour and with a smooth long-lasting finish, Hrafn Gin can be enjoyed neat, over ice, in simple serves or cocktails.

THE BEGINNING
Guided by the principles of flavour together with taste and inspired by myth and fable, we explore intriguing botanicals, seeking out unusual ingredients to blend together to create each individual expression.
THE MIDDLE
Our longer, slower distillation process allows the botanicals to release their flavours individually and gently. This preserves the integrity of each separate flavour, before the spirit rests and flavours marry together over a minimum of four weeks.
& THE FINALE
The result is an incredibly smooth gin with deep, resonating flavour. Whether enjoyed as a sipping gin neat or on the rocks, as a G&T or classic cocktail, each of our expressions takes you on an exhilarating journey of intense, yet delicate, flavour.

EVERY STORY STARTS WITH AN ADVENTURE
Hrafn Gin’s story begins with two whisky-loving brothers on a distillery trip to Islay. A raven spotted shadowing them on a gin distilling tour became the inspiration and a talisman for their own Hrafn Gin adventure.
Launched in 2018, Hrafn Gin has quickly established its position as a multi award winning range of high quality premium Scottish gin.
Based in Aberdeenshire, Hrafn Gin is run by brothers, co-founders and brand guardians Callum and Peter Sim.
It's time to take flight, and head off on a voyage into the captivating world of Hrafn Gin.
Storytelling brings people together and connects us all. We find inspiration in all that’s come before us; tales and traditions from around the world, finding the legends of Norse mythology particularly captivating. Naturally, we’re also drawn to Scotland’s heritage of food and drink; our love of whisky playing a part in our own journey to becoming distillers today.
From an early age, co-founder Callum Sim had a great passion for the world of Viking storytelling and Norse mythology.
Within this mythical world, notable are a pair of iconic black ravens serving Odin, "All-Father" of the Norse Gods. Their names, Huginn & Muninn, mean Thought & Memory in Old Norse. Hrafn (pronounced ra-vn) is the Old Norse word for 'raven'. The brand name and signature expression take inspiration from Huginn & Muninn.
